S2, E3: Vanessa Parish, Executive Director & Co-Founding Member, Queer Food Foundation

In this episode, I sit down with Vanessa Parrish, the Executive Director of the Queer Food Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to be a nationwide Resource and platform for LGBTQIA+ Individuals in food. They promote, protect, and fund queer food spaces. In this episode, we discuss their Queer Food Fund project, their workshop series with the James Beard Foundation and talk about Vanessa’s passion for queer farming, sparkling cocktails, and her favorite flavor of ice cream. You can find them at queer food foundation dot org or on social media @queerfoodfoundation.

Lez Eat! Queer Midwesterners & Food
Lez Eat! Queers & Food, Midwestern style.
Queer Midwestern foodies, rejoice! Lez Eat explores the connections between food, LGBTQIA+ community, and contemporary queer life. Brought to you from the Chi (home of The Bear, tavern pizza, Chicago dogs, and of course, the very terrible Malort.) by NB/queer Chef, Food & Culture Content Creator JT Goehring-Newman.
Join us as we chat with LGBTQAI+ chefs, pop-up entrepreneurs, intuitive eating experts, gay farmers, bakers…you name it! Basically, any queer with a mouth who puts food in it to discover why we love the experience of food so much and what we can do to help combat food insecurity.
